  • What it is

The Tunes mailing list, hosted at bespin.tunes.org, is currently the center of the Tunes project's activity.

Whenever you send a message to the e-mail address tunes@tunes.org, it will be received by all the subscribees, including all the project members, plus it will also automatically be made available on the message archive, and on the WWW gateway to it (see below).

The LLL subproject now also has its own separate mailing-list,
    at the current address tunes-lll@tunes.org.

    How to join

To subscribe to the list, just send mail to tunes-request@tunes.org, with any random subject, but the lines:
    	help
    	subscribe

You can join the LLL mailing list similarly, by putting the following line in a message to tunes-lll-request@tunes.org:
    	help
    	subscribe

    How to split

If you want to unsubscribe from the mailing list,
please do not post about it on the list itself.

Instead, you might send a message to majordomo as above. Hence, to unsubscribe from the tunes mailing list, send mail to tunes-request@tunes.org, with any random subject, but the lines:

    	unsubscribe

and similarly to unsubscribe from the tunes-lll mailing list, send mail to tunes-lll-request@tunes.org, with any random subject, but the lines:
    	unsubscribe

If you do have problems unsubscribing this way, then, and only then, you should send tril some mail about it, but please again do not post on the list about that.

    How to access its archive

Much of the project happened and happens on the mailing-list, and has not been summarized anywhere else, hence, a full understanding of the project includes knowing what was written on it. Hence, we publish the archives of the Tunes and Tunes-LLL mailing lists.

Before Tunes, there already was the MOOSE project, led by Dennis Marer (formerly dmarer@td2cad.intel.com). Many interesting ideas were emitted, but the project died by lack of organization. Because some the ideas in Tunes come after those in MOOSE, the archive of the MOOSE mailing-list are made available too.

We're offering the archive in several formats:

Send bug reports and any feedback by e-mail to tril@bespin.ml.org.

    Digests

There exist few, old, digests for the Tunes mailing list, that still cover a tiny fraction of the mailing list.
Feel free to help digesting, or even to suggest ideas about how what a digest should look like !

    To Do on this page

  • Adjust the page to the recent changes.
  • When the project will be bootstrapped, it is time to transform the mailing-list into a database, which will be a preliminary to design a better protocol than e-mail...
  • Digest the whole of the mailing-list, and put the digested synthesis into articles inside appropriate Tunes subprojects.
  • Allow people to send mail to the list from the page?
